F1006 - Fiber Optic Emergency Restoration
Course Description:
This 2-day course is a course for technicians who will be required to restore an outside plant fiber optic cable that has been cut or damaged. The focus of this course is to return a fiber optic cable that has been placed out of service, back in service as quickly as possible. Mechanical splicing will be emphasized, but fusion splicing will be addressed also. Students will learn what steps to take when restoring cables that are aerial, direct buried and placed in duct. All completing students will receive certification.
