F1003 - Fiber Optic Splicing
Course Description:
This is a 3-Day course will train students to properly and safely splice fiber optic cables. This lab intensive course is designed for the technician who will be installing and maintaining fiber optic cables in an outside plant environment. Students will prepare an outside plant fiber cable for splicing in a fiber optic enclosure. Splicing methods that will be taught are fusion and ribbon splicing. Mechanical splicing will be addressed if applicable. All fiber splices made in lab practice will be tested with an OTDR.
